Project Requirements:

Concept and design solutions employed:

Materials used and why:
The house is green. Every single material and finishes are eco friendly such as the recycled wood and water based painting. Also the spaces of the house are related to its landscaping design and outdoor area; the glazed sliding doors establish the connection between the spaces and the outdoor area.  The architectural aesthetic is very simple and orthogonal..

Aesthetics, space, functions:
The main aesthetic aspect is the façade electronic fins designed to provide natural ventilation throughout the interior of the house and the use of chunky pieces of the Cumaru wood which is sustainable.
The bedrooms and private areas to be used by the family only are located at the second floor. The guests bedroom, living areas and service areas are located at the first floor
Kitchen – There is a kitchen to the employees only and another one (gourmet kitchen) to be use by the owners and connected to the social area. The owners’ kitchen has a Brazilian barbecue unity very common to find in a weekend house.
Living Room – There is a home theatre connected to the dining and gourmet kitchen. When opened these areas are use as a balcony and when the glazed sliding doors are closed the space will became a living room.
Pool Deck – The pool deck is part of the social areas, the balcony and the native threes.
Master Bedroom – This area is seats aside to the others bedrooms to have more privacy. All pieces of furniture were designed by Studio Arthur Casas.
Guest Rooms – They have a very simple design and were to have a full exterior view from the garden and pool.
